Dr. Edmund Hsu is a board-certified UCI Health emergency physician who specializes in simulation medicine and point of care ultrasound.
He offers mentorship and training in emergency medicine, simulation medicine, and point of care ultrasound.
He earned his medical degree at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai St Luke’s-Roosevelt in New York. He completed a fellowship in simulation medicine at the University of California, Irvine, and a fellowship in point of care ultrasound at the University of California, Irvine. He has completed a certificate in Instructional Design and Technology at the California State University, Fullerton and is a Master of Science instructional design and technology candidate at the California State University, Fullerton.
His research interest includes studying the intersection of point of care ultrasound with medical education and simulation medicine. He is researching tele simulation, ultrasound use with high altitude medicine, diastology, cardiac regional wall motion abnormalities, speckle tracking echocardiography, ultrasound documentation, ultrasound guided regional nerve blocks, contrast ultrasound, and ocular ultrasound. He seeks to improve the clinical care of patients in the emergency medicine by educating future clinicians in simulation medicine and point of care ultrasound.
