Short Biography
Dr. Jay Shen is passionate about the parallels of critical care medicine and anesthesiology. He finds great fulfillment in caring for patients safely from the operating room, to the ICU and beyond. He hopes to train future anesthesiologists into thinking beyond the operative arena and to take charge of a patient’s entire perioperative course. In addition, Dr. Shen is intricately involved in teaching and implementing Point-of-Care Ultrasound across the hospital. He takes every opportunity to teach fellows, residents and medical students to incorporate Point-of-Care Ultrasound to quickly aid in diagnosis for patient care into their everyday practice. Ultimately, Dr. Shen’s hope is that all future anesthesiologists will become empowered in their own learning and find their passion and intricate style in the vast field of anesthesiology.
