Multilevel and Longitudinal Data Analysis, Latent Variable Modeling, Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Prevention, Health Disparities Research
Research Abstract
My primary research interest is to apply and develop appropriate statistical models to decipher complicated and massive data collected to solve challenging public health problems. In particular, I have been working in the field of translating evidence-based diabetes prevention and management interventions into large-scale public health practice among Native Americans and found many challenging and interesting problems while analyzing this type of data. In the past, I have provided statistical leadership and/or consulting to multiple federally funded studies focusing on reducing health disparities by implementing and evaluating community-based chronic disease prevention interventions designed for minority populations. My major research areas focus on conducting multilevel data analysis and latent variable modelling of those intervention projects as well as secondary data analysis of electronic health record data to study chronic disease epidemiology and health care utilization.
