Research Abstract
Organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals from Chinese medicine. Methods of high performance liquid chromatography. Purification and molecular characterization of neuroactive peptides from the Chinese amphibian skin. Cell mediated and humoral host defense systems. Purification of growth factors with haematopoietic activity from microvascular endothelial cells. Cell calture of platelets, monocytes. Peptide and protein methylation. Techniques used: HPLC, FPLC, MALDI-TOF and ES mass spectroscopy, Edman degradation, amino acid analysis, gel electrophoresis, antimicrobial assays, immunoblot, Western blot, cell culture, and radioisotope assays.
