Research Abstract
Professor Sanders' research interests are in environmental hydraulics, computational methods, and hazard mitigation in rivers and estuaries. Current research is focused on the development of adjoint methods to facilitate the real-time control of hydrodynamics and water quality in rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters. Specific issues being addressed include the mitigation of extreme flooding events and the impact and control of non-point sources of pollution in estuarine systems.
